Brazil has won the Best of the Best Award at the 8th edition of the Ernesto Illy International Coffee Award, presented to Josè Eduardo Dominicale. The award celebrates the company’s 30 years of collaboration with coffee farmers to offer sustainable coffee. The award was awarded by an independent panel of nine experts who evaluated the best batches from the 2022-2023 harvest. The coffee was rated in terms of richness, aromatic complexity, flavor balance, and aroma intensity. Guatemala’s Finca Danilandia di Luis Arimany Mondonico won the Coffee Lovers’ Choice Award. The award was presented by illycaffè Chairman Andrea Illy at a gala event at the New York Public Library. The event also provided networking opportunities for those involved in the coffee industry, including producers, exporters, traders, and institutional representatives.
