Jura GIGA 5 Wins 2013 Good Design Award
CLOSTER, NJ – The Jura GIGA 5, which has created a luxurious new super-premium niche in automatic coffee centers, has won a 2013 Good Design™ Award from the Chicago Athenaeum, the only independent museum of architecture and design in the United States.
One of the major design awards in the world, the Good Design Awards™ honors quality design of the highest form, function and aesthetic. The GIGA 5 won based on multiple dimensions including cutting-edge design, concept, materials, construction, utility, energy efficiency and sensitivity to the environment.
Winners of the Good Design Award are displayed at www.chi-athenaeum.org and become part of the Museum’s Permanent Design collection, exhibited in the United States and abroad. A first for the Good Design Awards, all winners will be displayed at the Chicago Athenaeum during the 2014 International Home & Housewares Show in March.
Jura’s GIGA 5 sets new standards in performance, design and perfection to fulfill the coffee lover’s every dream.
It is the first Jura model pre-programmed with an expanded menu of 12 barista coffee specialties, such as Irish coffee, Pepresso, Mango Lassi and White Cool. The user is easily guided through step-by-step instructions with inviting images and helpful text on the large TFT color screen. The user can also select from a variety of coffee classics, such as espresso, cappuccino and latte macchiato, prepared perfectly one or two cups at a time at the touch of one button, without moving the cup.
The GIGA 5 is also the first Jura model with a powerful combination of two high-performance ceramic disc grinders that adjust electronically, and it’s the first that can prepare two coffee specialty beverages at once.
The GIGA 5 features Jura’s fine foam technology, for finely steamed milk or textured form that has a long-lasting feather-like consistency.
