Austin’s Award-Winning Brazilian Coffee Producer Provides Classes, Demos at Central Markets Throughout Texas
(AUSTIN, TX – Feb. 25, 2014) Casa Brasil Coffees, the Austin-based coffee company that sources, imports and roasts beans exclusively from artisanal growers in Brazil, will lead a series of cupping sessions and demonstrations during Central Market’s first-ever “Know Your Joe” coffee extravaganza, Feb. 26 – March 11. Casa Brasil founder Joel Shuler is one of the few coffee experts worldwide to earn both the Q Grader certification and the Port of Santos Cupping and Classification license. Shuler and his team will conduct two cupping classes with Central Market’s Cooking School – March 3 and March 7 in Forth Worth and Dallas respectively – and more than a dozen coffee demos at all eight Central Market locations in Texas (exception of Preston Road/Dallas). Shuler recently translated Pos-Colheita do Café, a textbook on post-harvest coffee technologies (English title: Handbook of Coffee Post-Harvest Technology: A Comprehensive Guide to the Processing, Drying, and Storage of Coffee).
