Summit Coffee Hires Toby Foreman
Summit Coffee Co. announces the hiring of Toby Foreman to lead Summit’s newly established wholesale division. Foreman will work out of Summit Coffee’s Cornelius, North Carolina, roasting facility. His first day is April 3.
Foreman, Sr. Coffee Buyer at S&D Coffee & Tea, brings more than 26 years of experience in the coffee industry to Summit. Foreman also served at S&D as Director of Manufacturing. Prior to joining S&D, Foreman held positions at Diedrich Coffee, Gloria Jeans Coffees, It’s a Grind Coffee and Maranatha Import Export, and owned his own coffee consulting company.
“We couldn’t be more excited to bring Toby into the organization,” said Brian Helfrich, owner of Summit Coffee. “We’ve had the great fortune of getting to know him as a frequent customer to our cafes over the past few years, and his experience, knowledge and enthusiasm for the coffee industry will be a tremendous asset.”
Foreman will be the first Certified Q-Grader on the Summit Coffee staff. He also has a background as a national conference speaker, lead instructor and industry panelist. In this newly established role at Summit, Foreman will oversee all wholesale growth and partnerships, as well as green coffee purchasing. Additionally, he will spend time working alongside Summit Director of Coffee, Evan Pollitt, and Director of Operations + Education, Lilly Wilson.
Summit Coffee is a roaster and retailer based in Davidson, North Carolina. Established in 1998, Summit has two retail locations in the Lake Norman area, in addition to the roasting facility, and plans to open a third cafe this summer in Asheville.
