Prestigious Honor for Coffee Roasters Awarded at SCAA’s 25th Annual Event in Boston, MA.
LONG BEACH, Calif. U.S.A. (April 15, 2013) — The Roasters Guild, a trade guild of the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA), the world’s coffee knowledge leader and largest coffee trade association, held the annual Roasters Choice Competition at SCAA’s 25th Annual Exposition, April 11-14, 2013 in Boston, MA at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. The annual Roasters Choice Competition is designed to highlight the art and craft of coffee roasting. To compete in the challenge, members of the Roasters Guild submitted roasted coffee that they chose to represent and highlight their roasting skills. Selected in advance of the Exposition, the top 10 coffees were showcased at the annual event. The coffees were served to Exposition attendees at the Brew Bar in the Activities Hall of the event. The roasted coffee that earned the top score, as determined by a panel of judges prior to The Event, has been named the winner. The Roasters Guild is pleased to announce the winner of the 2013 Roasters Choice Competition is Caitlin McCarthy-Garcia of Equator Coffees. The top three finalists were as follows:

The winner of this competition was presented with a trophy and will receive the grand prize of an all inclusive trip to the 2013 Roasters Guild Retreat, generously sponsored by Curtis.
