Diedrich Roasters Establishes Roaster’s Guild Scholarship

Nicole Skinner - IMG_0222Ponderay, ID: Diedrich Roasters, LLC announced on April 16, 2016 at the annual meeting of the SCAA Roaster’s Guild that it has established the Stephan Diedrich Scholarship Fund, an ongoing annual fund of $5,000 per year.

The purpose of the scholarship is to enable new roasters to attend the annual Roaster’s Guild Retreat who otherwise would not be able to attend. The scholarship is in honor of Stephan Diedrich, recently retired founder of Diedrich Roasters. Stephan’s strongest legacy is his commitment to training and educating roasters and this scholarship continues that purpose.

“We at Diedrich are really proud of our products and the artisan roasters who use them. Establishing this ongoing scholarship both honors Steve’s legacy and continues this company’s 35-year commitment to encouraging new roasters, as well as innovation, education, and looking toward the future. I look forward to meeting the first recipients at this year’s 2016 Retreat at Lake Lawn Resort in Wisconsin,” said Michael Paquin, President of Diedrich Roasters.

The application and vetting of applicants will be handled entirely by the Executive Council of the Roaster’s Guild. Details of that process are still in development but inquiries can be made through the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA).
