World Coffee Events announces 2014 World Latte Art, World Coffee in Good Spirits and World Cup Tasters Champions

Melbourne, Australia (May 18th 2014): Today World Coffee Events (WCE) announced the 2014 World Latte Art Champion, 2014 World Cup Tasters Champion and 2014 World Coffee in Good Spirits Champion at the Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) in Melbourne, Australia.

The 2014 World Latte Art Champion is ­Christian Ullrich from Germany. Announced on the same stage, the 2014 World Coffee in Good Spirits Champion is Matthew Perger from Australia. And, the 2014 World Cup Tasters Champion is Pang-Yu Liu from Taiwan.

A total of 31 National Latte Art Champions and 15 National Coffee in Good Spirits Champions competed in the 10th World Latte Art and World Coffee in Good Spirits Championships. 35 Cup Tasters Champions competed in the 11th World Cup Tasters Championship.

All 3 Championships took place over four days at Melbourne Showgrounds as part of MICE, Australia’s largest coffee event. Over 10,000 coffee fans from Australia and around the globe attended the event, and over 11,500 viewers streamed the competitions live online.

 

World Latte Art Championship

Champion: Christian Ullrich, Germany

2nd: Chiara Bergonzi, Italy

3rd: Edit Juhasz, Hungary

4th: Rie Moustakas, Australia

5th: Seijivus Matiejunas, Ireland

6th: Ryan Tan, Singapore

The World Latte Art Champion was awarded a trip to the World of Coffee in Rimini, Italy, and trip to Sumatra for DC Campus by Dalla Corte. They also won a Mahlkoenig Vario Grinder and a trip to China courtesy of Jas Bleu Coffee Expert.

 

World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship

Champion: Matthew Perger, Australia

2nd: Martin Hudák, Slovakia

3rd: George Koustoumpardis, Greece

4th: Madeleine Solheim Johnsen, Norway

5th: Young Jin Kim, South Korea

6th: Francesco Corona, Italy

The World Coffee in Good Spirits Champion was also awarded a trip to the World of Coffee in Rimini, Italy, and trip to Sumatra for DC Campus by Dalla Corte. They won a Breville “The Boss” Blender, liqueur from Grand Marnier, Mahlkoenig Vario Grinder and a trip to China courtesy of Jas Bleu Coffee Expert.

 

World Cup Tasters Championship:

Champion: Pang-Yu Liu, Taiwan

2nd: Amanda Juris, United States

3rd: Panu Reinikainen, Finland

4th: Yoeri Joosten, The Netherlands

The World Cup Tasters Champion was awarded a trip to Panama to visit coffee origin with Toby’s Estate. They also won a Mahlkoenig Vario Grinder.
