It’s time to ride again ~ Merlo calls for registrations for the Red Ride for Life 2013 Merlo calls out to bikers past and new to register now!

Whether you own a Harley Davidson, a Triumph, Ducati, Texas Chopper, Ironhorse Ranger, Old Smokey or one of the fast, new-fangled road bikes, it’s time to hit the road, feel the wind in your face, the rumble of the engine and the heat of the bitumen – it’s time to register for the Merlo RED RIDE FOR LIFE.
Merlo’s 8th annual Red Ride for Life will take place on Saturday July 13. Some 200 motorbike riders are expected to participate this year, leaving Merlo Coffee’s Bowen Hills Torrefazione at 10am for the 30km ride to the Springfield Blood Donor Centre to raise awareness and donate blood for the Australian Red Cross.
It’s a mighty cause supported by the mighty motorbike riders of South East Queensland and Dean Merlo is calling on all past riders to register now, and bring with them a fellow rider as a first timer.
“The Red Ride for Life is one of the most amazing events we host,” said Dean Merlo. “We see hardened bikers covered in tattoos, wearing leathers tougher than a Northern Territory croc, riding beside a weekend warrior who has swapped their lycra for leather, and their suit for sunnies; it’s a great leveller, where motorbike riders of all backgrounds come together to ride for a cause,” he said.
“One in three Australians will need blood in their lifetime, and only one in 30 regularly donates – the Red Ride for Life aims to help balance this equation.” The annual ride has helped over 2,000 patients through blood donations over the past 8 years.
