Bellingham, WA — June 10, 2013 — Wes Herman, owner of The Woods Coffee, was recently honored by Bellingham Whatcom County Tourism (BWCT) at its annual Taste of Tourism event. The 2013 BWCT Chairman’s Award was presented to Herman at the May 22 event, which was held at the Bellingham Cruise Terminal.

 

“The Woods has extended beyond serving coffee, and embraces the community and our visitors where they congregate on a daily basis,” said Loni Rahm, President/CEO of Bellingham Whatcom County Tourism.

 

Randi Axelsson of Silver Reef Hotel • Casino • Spa presented the award to Woods owner, Wes Herman. In presenting the award, Axelsson praised Wes and his entire Woods Coffee team on their entrepreneurial achievements and community spirit.

 

“We meet people everyday who are new to our area, and it’s an honor to be ambassadors for our community,” said Wes Herman, owner of The Woods Coffee. “We hear regularly from guests who are surprised by the warmth and kindness they encounter here. Our staff looks forward to giving a great first impression for everyone who walks through the door.”

 

The Bellingham International Airport received BWCT’s “Destination Marketing Partnership Award,” which recognizes exceptional tourism marketing efforts in Whatcom County each year. More than 175 people attended the event. Nineteen different Whatcom County restaurants, wineries, and caterers were also on-hand, sharing a sample of their signature offerings for attendees.
