Lavu iPad POS Adds RFID Readers and Scheduling Tools for Employees

RFID Scanning Capabilities Improves Security and Accountability for Restaurant Point of Sale; New Lavu Employee Portal Enhances User Experience with Shift Coverage and Online Schedules

Lavu Inc. is pleased to announce new features included in their mobile iPad POS software that will help clients improve both user efficiency and in-house communication. The latest Lavu version incorporates a new Employee Portal. This allows employees to view schedules online and easily trade shifts with other staff. New RFID reader integration increases security and streamlines the clock in/out process to a simple card swipe, making a faster yet more accountable environment for employees.

Lavu’s online employee portal centralizes the scheduling process, increasing communication between staff members. By logging in at my.poslavu.com, Lavu POS users can request or accept shift trades and coverage, adjust settings and contact info, and view and print weekly schedules. Schedules are made in the account’s control panel, and adjusted in real-time to the shared employee portal.

“We introduced my.poslavu.com in response to positive customer feedback,” said Corey Fiala, CTO and co-founder of Lavu. “The new shift manager feature will allow staff to search the entire schedule for shifts that need to be covered, and allow them to put their own shift up for grabs when they need to take the day off. Having a centralized location to view and trade shifts will make employees’ lives easier and will free up extra time for management.”

New RFID scanning capabilities for Lavu POS will help lower in-house theft while creating a secure, accountable environment for employees. Assigned cards for each staff member will improve clock in/out procedures and admin actions such as voids, refunds or price adjustments. RFID functions are deployed to Lavu POS accounts using a simple card reader integration.

Along with new features, the latest version of Lavu includes data to analyze labor based on patterns of customer traffic, with the ability to make adjustments accordingly. Lavu clients can minimize expenditures by adjusting staff schedules according to traffic trends.

The latest Lavu iPad POS version is available for all clients, and can be downloaded from the Apple App Store. Lavu POS 2.3.7 will be the last version that supports iOS 5.1.1. Clients using first generation iPads will still be able to use Lavu, but they will not have the option to upgrade past this version.
