The ADISQUE coffee producers association consists of 164 families of mainly the Mayan ethnicity in the Chorti region near the Sierra de las Minas and Sierra de Chama mountains. They have 165.75 hectares of organic coffee growing area. The region has a very special micro climate that is influenced by the Caribbean Sea and the two mountains. 49 women are involved in the cultivation of this coffee. ADISQUE’s mission is to create economic development for its social partners while ensuring environmental sustainability. The coffee is grown by members of the International Women in Coffee Association (IWCA). ese families are committed to protecting and promoting sustainability, which guarantees the life, feeding, and future world of their children. Their goal is to create economic development partners and foster sustainable environmental practices and grow coffee under the organic production system.
