Summit Coffee Obtains Organic Certification

North Carolina-based Summit Coffee recently achieved Organic Certification at its roasting facility, as inspected by Quality Certification Services. Summit is the second Charlotte, N.C-area coffee roasting company to be certified organic.
Summit Coffee started roasting in 2015, and has been building toward certification in the two years since opening the facility in Cornelius, NC. Summit was founded as a cafe in Davidson in 1998, and has since also added another store in Davidson, and a forthcoming venture in Asheville. The Organic Certification process with QCS took several months.
“This is an important benchmark for Summit,” said Brian Helfrich, CEO of Summit Coffee Co. “Being as transparent and organic as possible has always been a focus of ours, so achieving this certification brings our roasting facility in line with the company vision. It was a tedious and expensive process, but one that we were proud to tackle because of the message this sends to our partners and customers.”
Summit immediately released its first certified organic offering, Rutas Del Inca from Peru, and will be introducing several more in the coming months.
