Fast Growing Company Moves To Elk Grove Village

The Elk Grove Village facility serves as a logistical center, distribution center and warehouse. The company collects nearly 500 ingredients for its teas from 80 countries across the globe. Ashley Whitney, Tiesta Tea director of marketing, said those ingredients are shipped to Hamburg, Germany, where they are sorted and blended into any one of 45 blends. The tea is then shipped to Elk Grove Village where it is packaged, labeled and shipped.
On March 12, 2010 in their senior year of college, Klein and Tannous founded Tiesta Tea, developing it as a University of Illinois incubator and storing tea in their dorm room, Whitney said. In 2011, the two moved into a house located just blocks from Wrigley Field where they continued to grow the company.
