New illy Steeping Packs Add to Cold Brew Coffee Offerings for Cafés, Restaurants and Hotels
NEW YORK, June 7, 2017 – As cold brew continues to rapidly grow in popularity, illy caffè, the third-generation family-owned coffee company from Trieste, Italy, committed to offering the highest quality, most ethically sourced coffee to the world, announces its new cold brew coffee steeping pack for distinguished hotels, restaurants and cafés.
Using only single origin Arabica beans from Brazil, an ingredient in illy’s signature blend that is ideal for cold brew’s flavor profile, the new illy cold brew packs contain 175 grams of coffee, expertly ground and precisely measured for cold brew preparation, and innovated with illy’s expertise and-industry leading quality standards. Each filter bag, designed for ease of steeping, with zero waste and mess during a 12-hour brewing process, comes in a high-quality vacuum-sealed pack to maintain ultimate freshness. Average anticipated yield per pack is 2.2 litres of cold brewed coffee.
The illy cold brew steeping pack launch comes at a time when the decades-old infusion process is experiencing rapid growth, especially in the United States over the past 24 months.

illy Cold Brew Drink Recipes (developed for coffee made from illy cold brew steeping packs)
(1) SWEET COLD BREW
Ingredients: illy cold brew; vanilla ice cream; fresh cream; cacao powder
Equipment: small ice cream scoop; cream whipper; illy cold brew glass
Preparation: (1) add two scoops of ice cream to glass; (2) add illy cold brew up to upper edge of illy logo on glass; (3) use cream whipper to top off glass with whipped cream; (4) finish with sprinkle of cacao powder
(2) FRESCO VEG
Ingredients: illy cold brew; non-dairy milk (soy milk, almond milk, coconut milk or oat milk); ice cubes
Equipment: cocktail measure; mixing spoon; illy cold brew glass
Preparation: (1) fill glass ¾-full with ice cubes; (2) add enough illy cold brew to cover ice cubes; (3) finish with 40 ml non-dairy milk; (4) mix with mixing spoon and serve
(3) AMERICANO COFFEE COCKTAIL
Ingredients: illy cold brew; Campari; Martini Rosso; one orange; ice cubes
Equipment: cocktail measure; mixing spoon; illy cold brew glass
Preparation: (1) fill glass ¾-full with ice cubes; (2) add 30 ml Campari, 30 ml Martini Rosso & 80 ml illy cold brew; (3) mix with mixing spoon; (4) add orange slice; (5) garnish glass with orange peel
(4) MOJITO COFFEE COCONUT
Ingredients: cold brew; fresh mint; cane sugar; Malibu rum; ice cubes
Equipment: cocktail pestle; ice crusher; mixing spoon
Preparation: (1) use pestle to crush mint leaves in glass with 3 teaspoons cane sugar and 40 ml Malibu rum; (2) add crushed ice; (3) fill rest of glass with illy cold brew; (4) use mixing spoon to mix from the bottom, bringing mint leaves and sugar to top; (5) decorate with sprig of mint, serve with straw
