CHILLIN’ LIKE A BRAZILIAN AT BRAZILIA CAFE
One-of-a-Kind Coffee Concierge Service, Fresh Exotic Juices,
Homemade Gelato, Baked Goods and more!
NEW YORK, NY – JULY 2014: This summer, eat fresh at Brazilia Cafe (684 Broadway, New York, NY 10012, 646-852-6348, www.braziliacafe-nyc.com), a one-stop destination for healthy meals any time of day, made with ingredients that are meticulously sourced and prepared fresh. Brazilia just opened in April featuring a juice bar, soup salad & sandwich bar, bakery, gelateria plus Brazilia’s own coffee beans roasted to perfection and handcrafted by Coffee Concierges at the Brew Bar. The menu echoes European and African roots that influence Brazilian cuisine, with emphasis placed on healthful Brazilian ingredients like mango, banana, pineapple, açai and camu camu berries. The offerings are available to go or to dine in with hostess and table service at the café’s 60-seat dining area, where guests can relax and enjoy selections from any or all of the stations.
Brazilia Cafe’s dedication to delivering the freshest, highest quality ingredients steeps into everything that they serve. Malcolm Stogo (CEO of Fal Foods USA – a subsidiary of Fal Holdings) and his very experienced management team carefully considered every element of the menu to make sure Brazilia delivers that “WOW” factor.
The beverages at Brazilia Cafe shine in their own right and perfectly accompany the food. The Juice and Smoothie Bar, created by juice expert Yohana Guzman (Liquiteria, Starbucks), adds a delicious and “good-for-you-too” component to any meal. Savory vegetable-based juice combinations as well as fruity and fresh smoothies are offered, including The Yo-Mama (spinach, parsley, cucumber, carrot, apple, ginger) and The Citrus Kick (lemon, ginger, orange, cayenne) juices, as well as signature Brazilia (banana, mango, kale, açai and apple cider) and Banana-Rama (banana, peanut butter, cinnamon, chocolate whey protein and almond milk) smoothies. Unlike other coffee roasters or brewers that source their coffee beans, Brazilia owns a coffee farm in Brazil, allowing them to oversee every step of production from seed-to-cup and have maximum control over the flavor and consistency of Brazilia Coffee! Coffee consultants John Moore and Marilyn Eng direct the program and all coffee production by Brazilia’s parent company, Fal Foods. Their specially trained Coffee Concierge team crafts an array of coffee and espresso drinks at Brazilia’s Brew Bar, hot or iced Macchiatos, Cappuccinos, Lattes, Mochas and Affogato al Café (espresso poured over vanilla gelato) to name just a few. Nine different beans are available to suit any taste, including medium and dark roasts, decaffeinated options and espresso for those seeking a caffeine kick. Aficionados can request their favorite bean, which is then brewed using their preferred method – Hario, Chemex, Aeropress or French press – for a truly custom cup! Flights of three brews are also offered to enjoy a sampling of roasts. Plus, for the coffee drinker on the go, fresh drip and cold brewed coffees are available near the entrance.
Brazilia doesn’t stop at producing its own coffee. Ice cream and gelato expert Stogo, dubbed “Ice Cream Professor” of his very own Ice Cream University in New Jersey and inventor of the Cookies ‘n Cream flavor and the Chocolate-dipped waffle cone, created the gelato & sorbet program, which is truly unparalleled in New York. At the Gelateria, mouthwatering Brazilia Gelato & Sorbet selections are made fresh in small batches throughout the day in the authentic Italian tradition. Flavors range from Brazilia Coffee, Sea Salt Caramel, Madagascar Vanilla, Coconut, Blood Orange, and Mango to more adventurous Piña Colada, Pineapple Cilantro, Peach Bellini and Açai Camu Camu Berry, rotating daily to offer variety even to regulars. Gelato and sorbet are available by the scoop, cone, or in hand-packed pints to go. Meeting the dietary needs of today’s gourmands, DF Mavens dairy-free, gluten-free and sugar-free pints are also available to take away.
Brazilia Cafe’s menu changes with the seasons to offer the freshest flavors while providing nature’s best. Get a healthy start on the day with Breakfast selections like hot Artisanal Quiche and cold Yogurt Parfait and Fruit Salad. Enjoy new vitamin and nutrient rich Açai Bowls, like the Green (açai, banana, blueberry, kale apple cider) or Piña Colada (açai, mango, banana, pineapple, apple cider, shredded coconut), which are blended until smooth, then topped with fresh fruit and homemade granola. Satisfy a sweet tooth at the Bakery with fresh-baked Croissants, Muffins, Scones and Cookies, plus Brazilian specialties Pão de Queijo (Brazilian Cheese Bread), Brazilia Empanadas, Peanut Butter, Brazil Nuts & Jelly, and signature Brazilia Mini Doughnuts that are baked fresh and filled to order with a choice of homemade jellies and puddings. New PB&J and Holy Mole chocolate bars and Health nut, fruit and seed bars have been added to the offerings.
Brazilia Cafe’s savory Soups include chilled Gazpacho made with plum tomatoes, red and green peppers, red onions and a variety of herbs, and Pear Soup with roasted pear, cucumber, ginger, jalapeño and mint. Garden-fresh Salads range from classic Tuna Niçoise and Caesar to vitamin-rich and light Black Bean and Baby Kale and a new make-your-own Market Salad option with more than two dozen fresh, healthy ingredients and dressings to choose from. For heartier fare, visit Sandwiches satisfy at lunchtime, dinnertime or anytime with Roast Beef Bauru, Grilled Jamon e Queso (ham and cheese) or vegetarian Roasted Vegetable selections. Sandwiches are finished with fresh-baked breads, delivered throughout the day by Rollo Mio Artisan Bakery in Queens and come with a side of Brazilia’s Potato Salad.
Like the food and beverages, the 3,000 sq. ft. Brazilia Cafe space is fresh and rustic, reflecting modern tastes. Brazilia’s design was conceptualized by Fal Foods and designed by Costa Group, the same firm that modeled Eataly. The interior draws on existing elements in the space and mixes contrasting materials such as stone and bark. Warm wood tones and natural materials like oak parquet flooring meet iron forged by Italian master craftsmen for a chic and clean, yet cozy and inviting ambiance. All of the furnishings have been custom made in Italy, assembled internally at the firm for approval, then dismantled, imported and reassembled especially for Brazilia.
With accessible, wholesome dining any time of day or night in a relaxed setting, Brazilia Cafe is destined to become a neighborhood favorite for locals and tourists alike!
Brazilia Cafe is open from 7:00AM – 10:00PM daily.
