Grace Hightower De Niro, wife of Robert De Niro, launched
Grace Hightower & Coffees of Rwanda last year. It is a company devoted to enhancing the lives of Rwandans by empowering them with the opportunity to market their unique products to the entire world and create sustainable businesses that can be passed down to future generations.
After visiting Rwanda and being inspired by the words “trade not aid” from Rwandan President Paul Kagame’s speech at an event, Grace Hightower De Niro decided immediately to invest in their future. She did this by founding GraceHightower & Coffees of Rwanda and opening opportunities to the Rwandan people. The initiative is currently responsible for creating livelihoods for over 500,000 coffee farmers in Rwanda.
Grace Hightower and Coffees of Rwanda gives forward every day while producing delicious blends. We currently offer 5,
including decaf, that contain subtle hints of flavors like chocolate, caramel, raisin, cherry and citrus.
In the past few the months, the company has grown tremendously and is now served and sold in several Hong Kong hotel and restaurants. Grace Hightower and Coffees of Rwanda also introduced a decaf blend and several new gift sets.
In April 2014, De Niro hosted a prestigious event honoring the first lady of Rwanda, Jeannette Kagame, for the 20th Anniversary of the Rwandan Genocide. Kagame came in from Rwanda for the event and gave a beautiful speech for the anniversary. See MSNBC interview here.
