Elmhurst Milked Debuts Oat, Brown Rice, Peanut, and Unsweetened Nut Milk Varieties at Expo East
Innovative plant-based beverage company Elmhurst Milked™ is pleased to announce its participation in this year’s Natural Products Expo East conference in Baltimore, MD (September 13th-16th), where the clean label producer will preview six all-new beverage varieties including Milked Oats, Milked Brown Rice, Milked Peanuts, Milked Peanuts – Chocolate, Milked Almonds – Unsweetened, and Milked Hazelnuts – Unsweetened. These new varieties will be available to the public beginning in November 2017 and will be sampled at Expo East alongside Elmhurst Milked’s original Milked Almonds, Milked Hazelnuts, Milked Walnuts, and Milked Cashews varieties (Expo East booth #6512, section level 300).
Using a patented cold milling process called ‘milking’, Elmhurst Milked crafts whole-food, non-dairy milks that combine the nutrition of whole nuts and grains with superior, creamy texture and full flavor. The products contain none of the industrial stabilizers, whiteners, emulsifiers or gums typical of other leading brands and are non-GMO, gluten free, vegan, dairy free, lactose free, and kosher.
Each Elmhurst Milked product is made using only whole, raw ingredients sourced from trusted farmers. The word “milked” best describes the company’s unique process of using water to separate and draw out all the nutrients from the nuts and grains. Once released, these valuable nutrients re-combine naturally to form a smooth, creamy beverage without the use of chemicals or thickeners. The milking process allows Elmhurst Milked to use more nuts and grains per glass, resulting in a more delicious and nutritious non-dairy milk.
Elmhurst Milked’s nut varieties contain up to four times as many nuts as other leading brands, while its new oat and brown rice varieties contain 20g of whole grains per glass and are stamped by the Oldways Whole Grains Council. The products can be enjoyed on their own as a high-protein, low-sugar beverage or used in cereal, coffee, tea and smoothies. They can also be used as a replacement for milk in cooking, and their high protein content and foaming properties make them excellent for lattés and cappuccinos.
“We’re thrilled to unveil the latest additions to Elmhurst Milked’s growing line of innovative plant-based milks at Natural Products Expo East,” says Kenneth Voelker, senior vice president at Elmhurst Milked, “We’re excited to continue to expand our offerings to meet a broad array of consumer tastes and dietary needs, both by debuting unsweetened versions of two of our original nut varieties and by introducing all-new grain- and legume-based beverages that are just as nutritious and delicious as our original line of nut varieties.”
Dr. Cheryl Mitchell, inventor of Elmhurst Milked’s patented milking technology and a lifelong innovator in the vegan food space, will also attend Expo East to speak on a panel on “The Plant Revolution,” hosted at The Hilton Hotel in Baltimore from 12:15pm-1:30pm on Friday, September 15th.
