Delysia Chocolatier To Launch Kickstarter Campaign

Texas chocolate company raising funds to complete expansion.

October 2, 2013, Austin, TX – Delysia Chocolatier is launching a Kickstarter campaign on October 14th to raise funds to finish the company’s corporate headquarters. The award-winning, Austin-based artisan chocolatier is hoping to raise at least $55,000 to complete the construction of their full-scale production facility.
Delysia Chocolatier is a gourmet chocolate company with numerous established partnerships with world-famous Salt Lick BBQ, Becker Vineyards, and Franklin Barbecue. They are also the official chocolate vendor for the Circuit of the Americas – the only Formula 1 race track in the U.S.
“The entrepreneurial spirit of Kickstarter fosters the dreams of people like me who yearn to be our own boss. After working in corporate America for so many years, I am more than ready to accept the challenge that running a small business undoubtedly provides,“ says Delysia’s proprietor and chocolatier Nicole Patel.
Kickstarter is a way to fund creative projects using an all-or-nothing approach. In exchange for supporting Delysia through Kickstarter, backers will receive various chocolate-themed incentives based on their contribution level. Rewards include the chance to create their own truffle flavor, a farmer’s market-themed truffle collection, and a Chocolat Blu-Ray signed by Johnny Depp.
Delysia’s Kickstarter campaign coincides with their five-year anniversary. On October 3, 2008, Delysia made their first commercial delivery to Becker Vineyards. Sales and revenues have increased each quarter since. To keep up with the demand, Delysia purchased an empty warehouse – with cash – and is hoping to utilize Kickstarter’s crowd-funding model to transform the space into a production kitchen, offices, shipping dock, conference room, and cooling storeroom. Although renovations on the space have begun, numerous supplies and equipment still need to be purchased.
“The investment of our backers will allow us to expand outside of our local Texas neighborhood to a nationwide audience. We want nothing more than to share the experience of Delysia Chocolatier on a bigger scale,” says Ms. Patel.
