NEW MILFORD, Conn., Oct. 2, 2015 – Torie & Howard’s newly introduced organic Chewie Fruities candy has been named a finalist in the Martha Stewart American Made Awards.
The 4-ounce package of assorted Chewie Fruities candy, introduced in May, was selected as a finalist and now is eligible for the Martha Stewart American Made Audience Choice Award for which public voting will end on Oct. 19, said Torie Burke, company co-founder. Winners are to be announced on or about Oct. 23.
According to the contest website, Martha Stewart along with Martha Stewart Living’s executive editorial team serve as category judges and oversee the selection process for finalists in crafts, design, food and style categories. Products are evaluated for innovativeness, creativity, originality, customer need and value, and visual appeal of packaging among other criteria.
“Martha Stewart is an icon of artisanal style and craft, and we’re deeply honored to have Chewie Fruities selected as an award finalist,” Burke said. “We’re having fun engaging our friends on social media and retailers to help us get enough votes to win the Audience Choice Award.” Contest information about Torie & Howard and voting are online at
