The Woods Coffee Announces New Barkley Village Location
Wood’s thirteenth Whatcom County site to open December 10
Bellingham, WA — November 14, 2012 — The Woods Coffee today announced details for the opening of their newest location, in Barkley Village. Woods’ thirteenth Whatcom County coffee shop is scheduled to open on Monday, December 10, adjacent to the new, 16-screen Regal Cinemas movie theatre.
“We have been looking at ways to have a store in this area for the past five years, so we are very excited about the opening of this new space, and our association with the Barkley Company,” said Wes Herman, owner of The Woods Coffee. “We’re proud to offer a local coffee option for those who shop and work in Barkley Village, as well as for those looking for a drive-through fill-up on their morning commute.”
Unique features of The Woods’ new, 1,800 square foot location include a drive-through, the only one of its kind in Barkley Village, as well as a new “on tap” coffee delivery system. Barkley Village will be the first Woods Coffee location to use this custom-built tap system to serve the company’s 12-hour Cold Brew iced coffee, iced tea and other select beverages. Woods is one of the first coffee shops in the area to use such a system.
“The new tap system is a cool feature we’re excited to show off, but it’s more than just a novelty,” said Herman. “The built-in cooling system keeps our coffee chilled before it hits the ice in your glass. It makes for a consistent taste, complimenting the already smooth flavor of our Cold Brew coffee.”
The arrival of Woods Coffee’s newest location coincides with Regal Cinemas’ grand opening in Barkley Village. For three nights, starting December 10, Regal Cinemas will offer guests a chance to see a film in the new theatre at a reduced price, with the proceeds going to support a local charity. The theatre will officially open to the public on Friday, December 14.
“Being just across from Regal, it feels like we have front-and-center seats to the theater. It should be a very active location, particularly for evening moviegoers,” said Herman. “Our family loves movies, so we’re excited about being so close to the first RPX IMAX theatre in the country.”
