Tenth Annual World AeroPress Coffee Brewing Championship

Seoul, Korea – The tenth annual World AeroPress Championship will be held at Cafe Alver at 34 Gangnam-daero 102-gil in Gangnam, Seoul on Thursday November 9th at 7:00PM. Nine previous championships were held in Dublin, Seattle, Oslo (twice), London, Milan, Rimini, Portland (OR), and Melbourne.

AeroPress Champions from 59 countries will journey to Seoul from as far away as Australia, Guatemala, Indonesia, Kenya, Romania, Saudi Arabia, and Sweden. This is an impressive increase from last year’s Championship where 50 nations competed. Cafe Imports will supply the competition coffee: Kamwangi AA from Kirinyaga, Kenya. The event will be a mix of competition and fun with a live DJ, refreshments, and the Championship itself all taking place at Cafe Alver. Tickets may be purchased using the link below. If you are interested in attending the event in order to cover it, please email Tim Varney at tcv@aero.press.

The World AeroPress Championship is a fan-run competition that was founded in 2008 by coffee experts Tim Varney and Tim Wendelboe in Oslo, Norway. It has grown from a small gathering of coffee enthusiasts to become a coffee event of worldwide interest and continues to grow under the leadership of Tim Varney and, since 2013, Tim Williams. Because the competitions are planned and run by enthusiastic fans they have become known for a party-like atmosphere in addition to serious competition.
