What: Leading local politicians, Fair Trade USA, and Santa Claus will join Bolla Market, the high-end chain of New York City area convenience stores, at two events in Brooklyn and on Long Island to announce the company’s switch to offering only top-quality, artisanal specialty coffee certified to organic, Fair Trade, and the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center’s Bird Friendly shade grown standards for all its coffee offerings. In doing so, the company will become one of the largest, if not the only, c-store chains to offer only organic, Fair Trade, and Bird Friendly-certified coffee in the U.S.
The events will also celebrate the reopening of all 21 Bolla Market locations ranging from Brooklyn to Riverhead on Long Island as well as in Staten Island after Hurricane Sandy and come just in time for the heavy holiday travel season. Santa Claus will be offering free 12 ounces cups of the delicious coffee for everyone at the Brooklyn or Garden City Bolla Market locations from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. the day of the events in the respective locations (see below).
The coffee is also available for purchase in bag form to take home or to the office. Bolla Market is revered for bringing high quality food (including hot lunches) and beverages to area consumers.
