A Coffee Child’s Christmas to Benefit Children in Coffee Communities of Peru

The Café Femenino Foundation provides thousands of children in Northern Peru with a piece of Panettone (Christmas bread), a cup of hot chocolate and school books each year during the Christmas season. This year the Foundation would like to provide an additional gift of a sweatshirt for the children in the coldest communities, but we need your help to bring these gifts to the children in coffee communities of Peru.

A Coffee Child’s Christmas is held in over 50 communities, it is the only time of year the entire community comes together to celebrate the holiday. This annual event was named LaChocolatada by the Peruvian families. Often schools in the community organize a pageant for the gathering. The community event, pageant and gifts bring smiles to the children in the community. The children’s parents smile just as broadly when they see their children having fun and enjoying special treats for this one holiday celebration of the year.

Again, this year the Café Femenino Foundation is asking for your donation to fund this year’s A Coffee Child’s Christmas drive to purchase the sweatshirts and the treats requested by the children and the parents in these communities.
